1.1 Background of the Study

Access to quality education is widely recognized as a key driver of poverty reduction. In Lafia Local Government Area (LGA), Nasarawa State, efforts have been made to improve educational access and quality, especially for disadvantaged groups. Education has the potential to break the cycle of poverty by providing individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to secure better employment opportunities and improve their standard of living.

This study will assess the extent to which access to quality education in Lafia has contributed to poverty reduction, focusing on how improved educational outcomes influence individuals' economic opportunities and community development.
